Baba's Mediterranean Kitchen
No, not Ray, but his "separated-at-birth twin" Farid Salloum, CFO (Chief Falafel Owner) of Baba's Meterranean Kitchen on Fort Avenue in South Baltimore (between Federal Hill and Locust Point). What a cool little place to eat great Mediterranean food! It's colorful and cozy inside with an authentic tin ceiling adorned with Moroccan inspired hanging lamps and a meticulously hand drawn chalkboard menu. Upon entering the busy restaurant I thought we'd walked into the filming of a Seinfeld episode.....

We finally made it to Mr. Rain's Fun House which sits at the top of the American Visionary Arts Museum. Upon arriving I knew we had made a good choice when I heard LCD Sound System playing followed by The Smiths. What a visual feast for the eyes! Large arched window, glass mosaic walls, shiny strips of glass dangling over the bar and colorful art and sculptures everywhere. Federal Hill and Locust Point have changed so much since we lived there in 1989. Key Highway was nominated for "Worst Street in Baltimore" and I think it won! Now it's a haven for high-end condos and townhomes with an awesome waterfront walkway and a steady breeze that makes you feel like you're constantly on vacation.
